The assessments yield information on academic achievement at the student, class, school, system and state levels. The information helps gauge the quality of education throughout Georgia. The test can also create quite a bit of anxiety for students and parents.

The Georgia Department of Education provides several tips for parents to help their children, such as making sure their child gets plenty of sleep, a good breakfast, to school on time with the proper materials and a big hug.
