It’s time again to order your school supplies for the 2014-2015 school year. The quickest and most convenient way to get your student’s supplies for next year is by ordering from www.schooltoolbox.com. The website is very easy to navigate and understand. Just find your child’s grade for next year and click on the appropriate box for that grade. Your box of supplies will be ready for pick-up on Tiger Day. Don’t forget to order before May 23rd. If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie DeWitt at schoolsupplies@ eastsideelementary.com.
Also in May, East Side is having a “Buy One Get One Free Spring Book Fair” just in time for summer reading! Stop by May 13-15 from 7:20am – 6:00pm and check out all the great books. East Side teachers have provided recommendations for summer reading lists, including rising 6th graders. Please consider volunteering at the book fair and receive 10% off all your purchases. Come early to volunteer for the Book Fair and then stay for field day!
Tiger’s Cage is now open for business! The East Side school store is open from 7:20-7:50am Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Students can stop by the school store on their way to their classrooms to purchase fun school supply items. They can use their 2013-14 Sunshine Math coupons, as well as money from home. Let your student know that the new location for Tiger’s Cage is in the 5th grade hallway near the end of the stairwell and windows. To help with crowd control, please remember to shop on the days for your designated grade level. We look forward to seeing your student shoppers this year.
Wednesday is our first Waste Free Lunch day for the new school year. Volunteers will be giving out surprise rewards for those students with waste free lunches. If you need any tips on how to pack a waste free lunch, please visit http://www.wikihow.com/Pack-a-Waste-Free-Lunch. Help teach our students how to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle!
Volunteers are needed for Recycle Fridays. This is an easy volunteer opportunity to help collect paper recyclables from the classrooms. We recycle approximately 200 pounds of paper products at school every week. This will amount to saving 60 trees in the course of a 36-week school year. We need 3 volunteers every Friday morning before school (7:20-7:50am). If you are interested, please contact email@example.com.
Don’t miss out on this year’s East Cobber Parade on Saturday, Sept 21st. The parade will begin at 10:00am on Johnson Ferry/Princeton Lakes Drive and will travel south to The Fountains of Olde Towne shopping center. Get ready to show your support for Ms. Mavity, East Side’s administration, Teacher of the Year, and Professional of the Year. We will need two convertibles with drivers to transport all the honorees. If you own a convertible and would like to volunteer, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Can’t wait to see you all there!!
