An Award-Winning PTA
Recognizing the dedication of hundreds of parent and teacher volunteers, East Side’s PTA has been a recipient of many local, state and national awards.
- On April 27, 2010, East Side’s PTA was awarded the 9th District PTA FIRST PLACE for Outstanding Local Unit for elementary schools larger than 750. The Georgia PTA 9th District is comprised of six counties – Carroll, Cobb, Douglas, Polk, Paulding and Harralson. Click here to read the report submitted to Georgia PTA.
- For the third year in a row, East Side was selected as a Model PTA by Georgia PTA and earned the Platinum Membership Award, the highest designation given by Georgia PTA.
- In May of 2009, East Side’s PTA was amongst a select group of PTAs to receive the Phoebe Apperson Hearst Family-School Partnership Award of Merit from the National PTA. This award recognized our commitment to National PTA’s six standards for family involvement: Welcoming all Families, Communicating Effectively, Supporting Student Success, Speaking up for Every Child, Sharing Power and Collaborating with the Community for the 2008-09 school year.
